Find your next coliving space with Claude
Describe your ideal monthly stay, explore spaces with current Coliving.com data, and compare your shortlist in a conversation.
1. Connect Coliving.com
Use a remote custom connector in Claude web or Claude Desktop. This connects through your Claude account; no local configuration file is needed.
https://mcp.coliving.com/mcp
Add the connector
Open Customize → Connectors, choose + Add → Add custom connector, and name it Coliving.com. Paste the MCP server URL above, then continue. Some interfaces label this a custom Web connector.
Choose public access
Review the detected settings and choose No sign in for public discovery, then finish adding the connector. Leave request headers empty: no API key or manually supplied OAuth client credentials are required for public searches.
Enable it in your conversation
Start a new chat, open the connectors/tools menu beside the message box, and enable Coliving.com. Try the search prompt below.
For personal booking tools, use Sign in when needed and complete Coliving.com OAuth when requested. If your connector cannot be edited, remove it and add it again with that setting. Use automatic client registration when available rather than entering your own client credentials. Public discovery is the starting point; account sign-in depends on your client’s OAuth support.
In a managed workspace, an authorized owner must first add the connector under Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web. Members then find it in their own connector list and connect.
2. Try your first search
Use exact dates and a currency to help your assistant narrow the search. Change this example to match your trip.
Use Coliving.com to find private rooms in Lisbon from January 1 to March 1, 2027, under €2,000 per month, with coworking. Include listing links and tell me which requirements are confirmed.
A successful connection returns Coliving.com spaces with links. Ask the assistant to distinguish a listing’s starting price from the cost for your dates and to check availability before recommending a stay.
Keep the conversation going
- “Compare the top three spaces by private bathroom, coworking, monthly price, and cancellation terms. Mark anything unknown.”
- “Check room availability for my dates and explain the minimum stay for each option.”
- “Summarize recent resident reviews, including recurring concerns. Link to the listings.”
- “Show alternatives in Porto with a private room and a gym, within the same budget.”
3. Continue on Coliving.com
Ask for the listing link for your preferred space. Open it on Coliving.com, review rooms, your dates, the final price, and booking terms, then submit a booking request and pay through the website.
Search results are candidates. A conversation does not reserve a room or confirm a booking. Availability and prices can change, and some amenities or date-specific details may need confirmation.
Troubleshooting
I cannot find the plugin or connector controls
Check that your current Claude surface supports the connection method in this guide. Managed workspaces may restrict installation or require an owner to add the connector. Ask your workspace administrator to enable access; see the official documentation below for current requirements.
The connection exists but the assistant is not using it
Start a new conversation and explicitly ask it to use Coliving.com. Enable Coliving.com in the conversation’s connector menu. Ask “Find coliving spaces in Lisbon using Coliving.com and include listing links.”
I see an authentication or connection error
Check the URL ends in /mcp and matches the one in this guide. Public listing discovery needs no Coliving credential. For public-only use, check that the connector uses No sign in with no request headers. For personal account information, complete the Coliving.com authorization flow. If it fails, reconnect and try again. Check server health and retain the error message for support, without sharing passwords or tokens.
The connection returns a browser security check
If the assistant reports an HTML page, “Just a moment,” or a browser verification challenge, it may be reaching a site protection screen instead of the connection service. An API key will not resolve that. Share the error, client name, and time with Coliving.com support, without sending credentials. You can search on Coliving.com while the connection is checked.
No spaces match my search
Broaden the dates, budget, room type, or destination one at a time. Ask which requirement excluded the spaces and which details are unconfirmed. No results do not necessarily mean a connection problem.
How do I disconnect?
Turn Coliving.com off in the chat’s connector menu to stop using it in that conversation. To remove access, open Customize → Connectors, find Coliving.com, and choose its disconnect or remove control. Workspace connector removal may require an owner.
